Story text
When rain keeps Mia indoors, her teacher gives her a coloring page. As Mia colors a garden, she shares crayons with friends and creates a bright, cheerful story about colors for her whole class.

Rain tapped a gentle song on the classroom window. Mia sighed. "No outside play today," she said. Her teacher, Ms. Lily, smiled. "Rainy days are for special indoor adventures," she said. She handed Mia a big, blank piece of paper. "This is a garden waiting to grow. Would you like to help it bloom with color?" Mia's eyes sparkled. "Yes, please!"

Mia picked up a red crayon. She drew a tall, curvy stem. At the top, she colored a big, round bloom with pointed petals. "A tulip!" she whispered. She imagined it standing proudly in the sun. Just then, her classmate Leo walked by. "That's a super red!" he said. "Can I help?" Mia nodded happily. She was already making a friend for her flower.

Leo handed Mia a yellow crayon. "For the sun," he said. Mia colored a big, shining circle in the sky. She made little rays that reached down to the tulip. "The sun gives the flower a warm hug," Mia said. Her other classmate, Sam, peeked over. "It needs a blue sky," Sam suggested, holding out a blue crayon. Mia grinned. Sharing crayons made the garden even better.

With the blue crayon, Mia colored the sky. Then, at the bottom of the page, she made a wobbly puddle. "The rain made this!" she said. She colored it a deep, shiny blue. Leo laughed. "I can almost see my reflection!" Next to the puddle, Mia reached for a green crayon. What could be green in a garden? She had a fun idea.

Mia drew two big, bumpy circles for eyes above the puddle. Then she added a wide, smiling mouth. "A frog!" Sam cheered. Mia colored him a bright, leafy green. She gave him little spots on his back. "He loves the rainy day," Mia said. The frog looked like he was about to say "Ribbit!" and jump right off the page.

Mia looked at her garden. Red tulip, yellow sun, blue puddle, green frog. It was beautiful, but it needed more friends. "Let's make a rainbow of flowers!" Leo said. He found an orange crayon. Sam found a purple one. Together, they drew more tulips in a row. Soon, the garden was a happy crowd of colors, all sharing the same green grass.

Ms. Lily clapped her hands softly. "What a wonderful garden story you've made!" she said. "You noticed so many colors and shared so kindly." Mia felt a warm, proud feeling in her chest. She held up the page. The red, yellow, blue, green, orange, and purple all smiled back at her. It was a story without any words, but everyone could understand it.
